wondering how you run your inside veer from gun, i know of the utah triple to a zone scheme, but referring to the same side being effected, like back on the right in gun, running to the right side, putting that right d-end in conflict.

we are a triple option team from under center, but this year we have more of a throwing QB so we are loooking for ways to still run the inside veer from gun. last spring we visited a southern college, that is a traditional option team that was experimenting with the gun triple, and they send the fb initially on a midline path, veer block it, and still read #1(first man on or outside the tackle) if it is a give read he then goes back out on his normal veer path (outside leg of the guard), if it is a keep read the fb stays on the midline path making it a longer distance for #1 to travel, thus giving the QB more room and a cleaner read on #2. there is also tony demeo's zone schheme on the down linemen creating a cavity rather than a crease. both are interesting concepts (wish we had spring ball to experiment). I'd love to get some tape on this.

what about a zone dive option?
an easy add for most gun teams

I've never actually seen the veer option run out of the gun to the same side that the tailbacks on. Sounds interesting, but personally if I was going to run it I would stay under center.

Tog, Are you talking about when the qb almost runs foward to the mesh with the back and reads the LMOLOS? I think Utah did this and I've seen high school film of it. It looks effective but I don't want to do too much right now being a semi-new gun option team. www.parkdalefootball.bravehost.comparkdalefootball@yahoo.com

the qb opens up and sticks it in the back for the mesh, the back heads downhill at the psg area
then get your butt around the corner and pitch off the force as the pslb must hold a second for the dive action
