In response to a question elsewhere on the Board: 1. Run the Midline to a 2 technique ...preferably to a 3. 2. C blocks back on the 1 technique. 3. BSG outside release to BSLB. 4. BST block out on EMLOS to prevent pursuit. 5. FSG inside release on 3 to the MLB. 6. FST and TE fold ... T first out to EMLOS, TE fold around onto the OSLB. 7. SE and FL stalk the safeties. 8. FB run STRAIGHT 9. QB take Midline steps and read the 3 technique ... if he closes KEEP and replace him through B gap ... if he sits GIVE to the FB and carry out a GREAT fake. 10. TB. Crossover step and run a pitch route ... though there is no pitch on typical Midline. Here is a link that shows the basic blocking: www.putfile.com/pic.php?pic=2/5108491587.jpg&s=x3

Coaches, I think that the BSG might be wasted going out after the OLB like you've got him doing. I have two ways to solve that, and get another blocker downfield if that OLB doesn't flow hard.
1: BSG and C combo the 1 tech w/ the C securing BS A Gap and working up field.
2: Iif you have an athletic BSG, fold w/ the BSG and the C the get the guard on the ILB. This can be used v/s stacked ILB's or anytime the Mike is to the BS of the C. Let me know fi you have any questions.

Abe -
We ran it that way at the beginning of the year but found that the BSG folding around was a bit redundant ... PSG, FB and BSG were all meeting in about the same spot ... and the BSLB was sometimes sliding over to make tackles on our FB when the MLB and 1 tech were blocked so ......
Note: One thing we did do is have the BSG punch at the 1 tech - almost the start of a Combo with the center just to get his attention and to slow down any gap charge which could have messed up the Midline footwork of the QB....never did have a problem with the 1 tech stopping the play.

Coach, I got to looking at it some last night, and we never fold blocked it when I was coaching. When I was playing we ddi that, but I think it would be too hard for most HS teams. The blocking that you are describing is essentially a fan scheme. Do you run Iso, or any other play, with that same blocking scheme? Thanks,
